Barre Workout uses a combination of postures inspired by Ballet, Yoga and Pilates. We use the barre as a prop to balance whilst doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still whilst you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high repetitions of small range-of-motion movements. Classes often incorporate light weighted balls, resistance bands and air-balls to bring the burn during all those repetitions. Don't be surprised if we come down to the mat - Barre Workout uses core exercises, increasing the sensation at the barre.
Baby & Me Barre focuses on postnatal recovery and realignment of the body, building strength and muscle tone from the inside out, whilst at the same time bringing awareness to the physical and emotional bond you have with baby through fun interactive practices that use sound, songs, touch and movement. Mum and baby classes are informal, friendly classes offering a supportive space in which to bond and interact with your baby and to connect with other mums.
We finish the class with a relaxation practice to revitalise body and mind, renewing you for the day ahead.
